This image sequence is perhaps unusual in that the delay between individual images was quite long and also varied. In some cases the delay between adjacent images was 15 seconds, and in other cases as much as one minute. The lifting of the lifeboat stopped ar various points and the variable delay was intended to render the movement more or less continuous.
