This simple calculator converts degrees, minutes and seconds to decimal degrees, and vice versa. 30 degrees, 45 minutes and 0 seconds therefore converts to 30.75 degrees. This is useful, for example, when setting up Google map locations for images. The calculator also provides the latitude and longitude of the point on the globe furthest from the position specified (ie on the opposite side of the globe) and the distance between the two points in kilometres. Remember that the globe is not a perfect sphere, so this distance varies.
